On behalf of OEI, welcome to our website.

Our commitment to Central New York is strong.  Through our programs, OEI works with the Onondaga Nation, Federal and State agencies, municipalities, local universities, public and private schools, non-profit organizations, business and industry to conduct research, education, planning and restoration projects that benefit the environment and local citizenry.

Working together, we can foster environmental stewardship and sustainability in Central New York.

Joseph M. Callahan
Treasurer

 

Joseph M. Callahan is an attorney/shareholder with MacKay, Caswell, & Callahan, P.C., Attorneys at Law in Syracuse, New York since 1998; and is a former member of the Syracuse Common Council. Mr. Callahan was an Associate Professor within the Political Science Department of the Maxwell School of Citizenship at Syracuse University, he worked as an associate attorney with Menter, Rudin & Trivelpiece, P.C., Attorneys at Law in Syracuse, served as a tax consultant and CPA with Deloitte, Haskins, & Sells, CPA's in New York, New York, and served with the New York State Assembly Governmental Operations Committee as a Committee Clerk in Albany, New York. Mr. Callahan is currently the Executive Director and past commissioner of the U.S. National Park Service-Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor Commission. Mr. Callahan has a B.S. from the Newhouse School of Public Communications, an M.A. in accounting from the Syracuse University School of Management, and a Juris Doctorate from the Syracuse University College of Law. Mr. Callahan has been on the OEI Board of Directors since 1994.
